Iowa Radio Operators began as a dream — a vision of a space where radio operators of every discipline could come together to support one another. What started as a simple Discord server has grown into the organization you see today.
Through all of that growth, our mission hasn't changed. We exist to connect amateur radio operators across Iowa who don't have a local community of their own, or who simply haven't found a place that felt like home. From the beginning, we've been built on collaboration — a place to troubleshoot problems, share projects, and learn from one another, regardless of experience level or specialty.
As we've grown, that same open, welcoming spirit has stayed at our core. Iowa Radio Operators isn't about doing things a certain way or fitting a certain mold — it's about giving Iowa's radio operators a place to belong, and a community that's always ready to help you grow in the craft.
